This procedure is applicable to wood doors.

Insert the bolt into the 1" (25 mm) hole until the face plate butts up against
the door edge. Draw a line around the face plate. Remove the bolt from the

For doors without a beveled edge, use a sharp

except the face plate will not be flush with the
