The GNSS status window
displays in the lower left
corner of the Stencil Pro UI.
The color of the box and
corresponding satellite icon
denote the status of the
scanner’s current GNSS signal.
The status window displays fix
number, satellites, coordinate,
and other pertinent
information once data is
received. To hide the status window, simply click the satellite icon.
If the status window is
Waiting for GNSS data
, verify the Trimble settings by going to the
internal Trimble administration page. Open a web browser on Stencil Pro and proceed to
the following IP address:
10.20.27.3
. See Verify GNSS Is Communicating on page 112 for
troubleshooting the GNSS signal. Also confirm that the umbilical cable connectors
between the controller and scanner are snug.
Waiting for GNSS data
can also indicate that
the scanner is disconnected from the controller.
If utilizing NTRIP RTK corrections during scanning, the GNSS Status window will indicate
those fixes accordingly while scanning occurs. For detailed instructions about getting the
best results from GNSS input, see Getting Best Results on page 100.

Stencil Pro has the capability to establish a Wi-Fi connection to a wireless network. With
software release SP21.02.1, Stencil Pro can also be used as a hotspot in conjunction with
its internal wireless adapter. This enables you to connect any Wi-Fi capable external
device to Stencil Pro (such as the included iPad, or a mobile phone or laptop).
To configure wireless setting, select the Ubuntu wireless symbol
in the upper right of
the screen. Stencil Pro uses Ubuntu’s default interface for connecting to Wi-Fi networks.
To see available networks, click on Select Network or Wi-Fi Settings under the wireless
menu (Figure 21). You can then select the network to connect.
Under the Ubuntu wireless settings, there is an additional
PCI Wi-Fi Hotspot Active
network setting, which is the internal Stencil Pro hotspot (see Figure 21). From an external
device, select
Stencil-Pro-3XXXXX
as the available Wi-Fi network. The network number
corresponds to your Stencil Pro serial number. Enter “kaarta430” as the Wi-Fi password
on the external device, when prompted.
