Radio data system allows FM stations to send an additional signal
along with their regular programme signals. For example, the
stations send their station names, as well as information about
what type of programme they broadcast, such as sports or music,
etc.
When tuned in to an FM station which provides the radio data
system service, the RDS indicator lights up on the front display
panel.

With the system, you can receive the following types of radio data
system signals:
PS (Programme Service) : Shows commonly known station

names.

PTY (Programme Type)

: Shows types of broadcast

programmes.

RT (Radio Text)

: Shows text messages the station

sends.

Enhanced Other Network :

●

Radio data system is not available for AM (MW) broadcasts.

●

Radio data system may not operate correctly if the station tuned
is not transmitting radio data system signal properly or if the
signal strength is weak.
