Dear Customer,
Thank you for purchasing the Sensei composter that has been developed in
cooperation with the Institute of Microbiology. The composter should help you to
ferment plant-based kitchen waste (waste from lettuce, vegetables, fruit – please
make large pieces a little smaller) and provide protection against aromas and flies
(replaceable activated carbon filter) so that you shall have to dispose of organic waste
which is excellently suitable for your composter, the raised bed, or the bin, to a lesser
extent (period of between 2 and 4 weeks).
The composter is made from a “bio composite“ – a polypropylene that is neutral to
groundwater, is warranted not to contain bisphenol A, formaldehyde, and heavy metals
– with an approx. 40% wood and pulp content – in addition to it being sustainable and
recyclable.
This product is intended for private use and not for commercial purposes.
Assembly instructions
• Take the four enclosed legs and insert those into the recesses in the base of the
composter and fix them with the included screws (see fig. B).
• Push the O-ring seal onto the thread of the drain tap and then insert it through the
drilled hole into the bottom of the composter, before screwing the brass nut hand
tight from the inside.
• To insert the activated carbon filter, press both of the retainers contemporaneous
from underneath the cover and open the activated carbon filter cover. Insert one
of the included activated carbon filters and insert it into the indentation; insert the
cover from above and press it into the retainer – please replace it every 4-6 months,
or in the event of an odour developing. You can order replacement filters from
www.juwel-garden.com.
Instructions for use
• Turn the previously assembled drain tap off so that no fluids can be discharged.
• Pull the plunger up as far as possible each time before opening the cover.
• Lift the cover up together with the plunger; you can secure the cover on the
composter as shown (see fig. C).
• Fill the composter with waste vegetables or fruit (no meat or bones, no pasta
products or rice and no wood). Scatter a tablespoon of Bokashi granulate per two
litres of organic waste over the waste. Replace the cover with the plunger onto the
composter, push the plunger as far down as possible and compact the organic waste
inside of the composter by applying moderate pressure – Finished!
