USE
1.
The filter pump is filled with water automatically provided that it is positioned at least 20 cm lower
than the highest water level in the pool. If air collects in the pump for any reason, it can be bled
using the valve on top of the pump. Turn the valve knob anti-clockwise to bleed it. Close it by
rotating it clockwise when water emerges through the valve. This means that the pump is
completely filled with water.
2.
Never run the pump without water. This may damage the seals, which in turn may cause leaks
and/or flooding.
3.
Before every use, check that all hose clamps are tightened.
4.
Before every use, check that both leadthroughs in the pool wall are open on the inside and that the
screens are inserted correctly.
5.
Never handle the power cord with wet hands or when you are in water – risk of electric shock.
6.
The filter pump must be upright when it is operational.
7.
The filter pump must be placed on flat, firm ground. We do not recommend placing it on a raised
platform or similar.
8.
When steps 1 to 7 have been executed, switch on the pump by connecting its power cord to an
earthed mains socket with a residual current circuit breaker.
9.
Run the pump for about 4–6 hours a day to ensure that it remains functional for as long as possible
and in order to keep the pool water clean. Do not run the pump when people are in the pool.
10.
Running the pump for too long can cause overheating and damage the motor. Use common sense
on hot days and avoid running the pump continuously for long periods.
MAINTENANCE
1.
Always disconnect the power cord before cleaning the pump – risk of electric shock.
2.
We strongly recommend that you always keep a spare filter cartridge to hand. Use only approved
spare parts (consult your dealer).
3.
The pump requires no lubrication and no mechanical maintenance.
4.
Wash the outside of the filter pump with water and a mild detergent and rinse using a hose.
5.
Do not use solvents as these may damage plastic components in the system.
6.
The pH of the pool must be 7.2 to 7.6.
7.
Do not use extension cables, plug adapters or similar.
8.
Do not place the filter pump in tall grass as this may cause the motor to overheat.
9.
When the water has been completely emptied, remove all hoses from the pool and the filter pump.
10.
Empty all water out of the filter pump.
11.
Store the filter pump and its accessories in a dry, well-ventilated room. All parts must be dry when
they are put away.
12.
Ideally, store the filter pump in its original packaging ready for the next season.
CLEANING AND REPLACEMENT
1.
Normally the filter cartridge should be replaced approximately every three weeks. However, the
time between replacements does vary depending on the number of swimmers and how long the
filter system is working without swimmers every day.
2.
The filter cartridge should be cleaned regularly between replacements so as to improve filter
efficiency and, to an extent, to extend the time until the next replacement.
3.
Disconnect the power cord before cleaning the filter cartridge – risk of electric shock.
4.
Remove the screens from the inside of the pool and place the caps on the leadthroughs.
5.
Turn the air valve cover (P1) carefully anti-clockwise to release the pressure inside.
6.
Undo the filter pump's filter housing cover (P4) by rotating it anti-clockwise.
7.
Remove the rubber filter housing gasket (P6).
8.
Remove the filter cartridge (P7).
9.
Clean the filter cartridge using a powerful jet of water from a garden hose.
10.
If the filter cartridge cannot be flushed clean, it is time to replace it.
11. Replace the cleaned or new filter cartridge in the filter housing and fit the filter pump (see
Installations Instructions).
