GEAR HANDLE
Lubrication
Follow the instructions below if the shift lever needs lubricating after being exposed to water and gravel.
1.
Dismantle the gear shift and wash all its parts in paraffin or a degreasing agent. Blow clean all the
parts with compressed air.
2.
Lubricate the parts at which the arrows point with a suitable water resistant grease. Do not use
lithium grease.

Changing the wire
1.
Turn the gear handle until the wire is completely released. Release the wire from the derailleur.
2.
Remove the guard.
3.
Remove the gear handle by pulling it straight out. The spring may come loose from the chamber.
4.
Remove the old wire and discard it.
5.
Lubricate the shift lever before fitting the new wire. See the section on lubrication above.
6.
Fit a new wire, one that is approved for the gear handle. Insert the new wire through the wire hole
in the casing.
