SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Read these instructions carefully before use
These Operating Instructions contain important instructions for the safe operation of the battery
charger. Read and save the instructions for future use.
Do not expose the charger to rain or snow.
The battery charger is only intended for charging lead-acid batteries. To avoid the risk of fire,
electric shock and other safety risks, the charger must not be used as a DC source or accumulator.
-
The battery charger is intended for regular accumulators and maintenance-free
accumulators with a capacity of between 20 Ah and 90 Ah.
If the charger cracks or is damaged in some other way, it must not be used.
Do not attempt to dismantle the charger yourself. Repairs must only be carried out by an
authorised service centre. Consult your dealer. Improper installation may result in electric shock or
fire.
Do not use the battery charger if the power cord and/or plug are damaged in any way. For safety
reasons, the power cord must only be replaced or repaired by an authorised service centre.
The charger must be turned off and disconnected from the power outlet when connecting or
disconnecting the battery.
During charging, batteries emit a certain amount of hydrogen and oxygen. This mixture can
explode. It is therefore important to ensure good ventilation and to avoid spark formation, smoking,
etc.
When working with lead-acid batteries, you should have plenty of clean water close at hand in case
an accident should occur. The fluid in the batteries is extremely corrosive. This must not come into
contact with the skin, and especially not with the eyes. If you come into contact with battery fluid,
clean and rinse the affected area immediately with copious amounts of water and then seek
medical attention.
Lead-acid batteries store large amounts of energy. Ensure that metal objects do not come into
contact with the charger’s positive and negative terminals at the same time. This will otherwise
result in a short-circuit that can cause fire and personal injury.

OPERATION
FUNCTIONS AND FEATURES
Spark protection
The battery charger is equipped with an anti-spark circuit. If the charger is operated incorrectly (battery
clips are connected or removed when the charger is not turned off), this circuit effectively controls any
spark formation for increased safety.
Short-circuit protection and terminal reversal protection
The charger has a load-monitoring circuit. The charger’s output current is blocked in the event of a short-
circuit, terminal reversal or excessively low initial battery voltage (<3 volts), and is restored when the load
returns to normal.
Overload protection
In the event of excessively large battery capacity or a partial short-circuit, the battery charger’s output
current is turned off and the charger is locked in this position. The load must be removed and the charger
must be turned off to reset the charger.
