3.16 Data Reporting Function
3.16.1 Data Reporting Function Overview
The data reporting function has two type methods of reporting, or immediate reporting and periodic
reporting. The data reporting function mainly is used as MES’s periodic position reporting.
There are three type function, or DR (Data Reporting), EDR (Enhanced Data Reporting), EPADR
(Enhanced Pre-assigned Data Reporting) as the data reporting function. DR and EDR are available as
immediate reporting or periodic reporting. EPADR is available as periodic reporting.
In periodic reporting, the data report will be sent based on the information, which is Polling Program
or EPADR Assignment. The information is previously downloaded from LES via NCS.
For DR/EDR function, Polling Program is necessary information. Polling Program include following
information.
(1) Address information (LES, DNID/Member Number)
(2) Start data and time of DR/EDR first transmission
(3) Transmission interval of DR/EDR:
Minimum: 15 minutes, Maximum: 24 hours
(4) Number of packets of DR/EDR:
Minimum: 1 packet, Maximum: 4 packets
For EPADR function, EPADR Assignment is necessary information. EPADR Assignment include
following information.
(1) Address information (LES, DNID/Member Number)
(2) Start data and time of EPADR first transmission
(3) Transmission interval of EPADR:
15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, 3 hours, 4 hours, 6 hours, 8 hours
(4) Number of packets of EPADR:
Minimum: 1 packet, Maximum: 4 packets
(5) Number of reports of EPADR
(6) Slot Logical Channel Number (SLCN):
The number, which was assigned by LES, is assignment identification for EPADR.
(7) Multi-user detection:
If multi-user detection is enabled, MES will confirm acknowledgement when data report is sent.
(8) The channel information will be used on EPADR transmission
