10.5 Operations using a SELCALL unit
The JSS-2250/2500 MF/HF radio equipment can be connected to external selective
calling devices for fishing boats (Selcall) to send signals for calling Selcall buoys or
Selcall receivers on ships.
For details on operations of Selcall devices, refer to the Instruction Manual for that
device.

Finish all menu operations to return the
screen to the status display.
When a transmission is made from the
Selcall device while menus are displayed,
menus can no longer be operated until
transmission ends.

Set the frequency (e.g. 2331.5 kHz) for
transmitting on the Selcall device in the
free frequency input mode. Then tune the
antenna by pressing
key.
In this case, input both the Rx and Tx
frequencies as simplex frequencies.
Set the communication mode to TEL.

Operate the
Selcall
device to start
transmission.
When transmission is started, the
communications mode automatically
changes to H2B as shown at right.

communications mode returns to the
original mode.
