The DP Operator Workstation MAP screen is divided in the following sections:
1. MAP Section.
2. Thrusters Section.
3. Heading Setting Section.
4. Position Settings Section.
5. Heading and Position keeping gain, speed and alarm settings.
6. Joystick gain setting.
7. Environmental Settings.
8. Wind compensation.
9. Current compensation.
10. Alarm area and dimming.
2.3.1.1 Map Section
Indicators in this section are for Position Reference and effective forces on vessel:
•
COG - Course Over Ground (°), including graphical representation in map.
•
SOG - Speed Over Ground (knot).
•
Map including:
•
Latitude / Longitude.
•
Error North (m) / Error East (m).
•
Vessel orientation, heading and movement.
•
SOG vector (green).
•
WIND vector (yellow).
•
FORCE vector (white), controller output.
Note Wind force is displayed with a vector as “Wind going to”, and numeric as “Wind coming from”.
MAP section has the following selectable options:

VESSEL ORIENTATED selected: Shows the map orientated in relation to the vessel. If desired an offset for the
orientation can be entered, for instance if the monitor is not facing in forward direction. See Figure 22: Off Set
Orientation on page 34 where an offset of 180° is entered (workstation facing AFT ship).
•
VESSEL ORIENTATED deselected: The map is facing north up.
•
VESSEL FIX selected: The image of the vessel is locked in the center of the map and the target position is moving.

VESSEL FIX deselected: The target location is locked in the center and the vessel is moving.
