Electrical connections
The
established national regulations
should be followed in all cases. Each unit
is supplied with an electric board to which
power supply is connected through a main
switch with fuses or an automatic switch
installed at the job site. This switch should
be independent of all other circuits. Should
it be necessary to change any cables sup-
plied with the unit, the replacement cable
must be of the type indicated on the wiring
diagram.
This electric board contains a phase detec-
tor to assure the electric sequence is R-S-
T. Should this not be the case, the control
electronic board will not be powered and
the unit will be inoperative. In this case,
interchange two of the incoming phases of
the main power supply to the unit.
Power and control wiring
Job site wiring of the unit and its ground
connection should comply with national, lo-
cal and municipal regulations in force. The
voltage tolerances that should be kept on
the compressor terminals during start-up
and operation are indicated on the Identi-
fication Plate.
The power supply line should be adequately
dimensioned to withstand the load. Use cop-
per conductors only. Each one of the units
should be connected to an independent
circuit with an automatic switch, powered
directly from the control panel.
Caution
When connecting power supply and control
wiring to the unit, waterproof type connec-
tors should be used so as to avoid water or
dampness getting into the unit during normal
operation. These waterproof conditions are
also applicable when a switch is installed
at job site.
See “Typical job site wiring” concerning the
unit wiring diagram, as well as information on
the control circuit and power supply wiring.
Thermostat
The ambient thermostat should be located
on an indoor wall at about .5 m. above floor
level, away from any air current and expo-
sure to direct sunlight or to the heat of any
other electrical apparatus. Remote probes
(accessory) are available for when the ther-
mostat is not installed within the conditioned
area. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions
supplied with the thermostat with regard to
general installation. Ten colour-coded 0.22
mm² wires should be used to connect the
thermostat to the unit.
Rotational direction of the
compressors
The Scroll compressors and fans operate
correctly in one single rotational direction.
All motors are factory-wired for rotation in
the correct direction.
Typical job site wiring
Caution with wiring connections
0 x 0.22 mm² shielded cable, with a maximum length of 00 m., should be used between the thermostat and the
control board. The connections to be carried out are R, B and X. (The remaining 7 cables are necessary if you wish
to use a thermostat with relays with connections G, Y, Y2, O/B, W.) For remote sensor connection, use 2 x 0.5 mm²
shielded cable, with a maximum length of 00 m., between the thermostat and the sensor. Connections to be carried
out are RS and RS2.
