Existing chimney (C91)
It is possible to use an existing chimney of the house to connect the insert. This chimney must be
tubed with a stainless steel flexible of 100 mm diameter and connected to the smoke evacuation
pipe. The existing chimney act as the exterior pipe bringing combustion air.
For this kind of installation, it is mandatory to respect the following conditions:
-
The existing duct must be clean, sealed, in good state and with a sufficient diameter
(proportion must be like a concentric duct of 100/150, namely 177 cm²). If this duct has already
been connected to an appliance working with another combustible than gas, it must be swept
and cleaned before connecting it to the insert.
-
The pipe connection must be completely sealed on its basis and outlet on the roof. To proceed,
use renovation kit ONTOP (USSAN) or JEREMIAS (TWIN K40 B-H) provided to this effect. It is
forbidden to use another type of connection.
-
On the roof, the renovation kit must be connected to a concentric end.
Note: If the vertical length (B+E) is more than horizontal length (D+(yxC)), it is necessary to install the
restriction plate supplied with the device. According to the highs of the ducts, adapt the restriction plate
by cutting unneeded parts (see 2.1, setting and placing of the restriction).
ATTENTION: The formulas below are theoretical. These values can change according to geographic
situation and environment of the house. It is mandatory to test the working and to adapt the restriction
according to the look of the flame.
3 m < B < 5 m: Dia 60 mm
5 m < B < 10 m: Dia 40 mm
10 m < B < 15 m: Dia 30 mm
B > 15 m: case by case
Test the working.
