7.3 Operating system

We are continuously striving to enhance the operating systems of our products.
Enhancing means adding new features, and upgrading existing functions. Cur-
rent OS files are available for download on our homepage in the downloads area
of the respective product.

7.3.1 Operating system update using the programming tool

With the help of the programming tool JetSym it is possible to update the operat-
ing system in a comfortable way.

Pay attention to the feedback from the 

status display [

 of the JX3-BN-EC

while performing an operating system update.

ü

The latest OS file for the JX3-BN-EC has been downloaded from the Jetter
homepage.

ü

Controller and JetSym are connected.

ü

The JX3-BN-EC has been configured in JetSym.

ü

Controller and JX3-BN-EC are connected.

ü

The JX3-BN-EC waits in the boot loader for the operating system update or
the operating system is running.

1.

Make sure that the JX3-BN-EC is not switched off during the operating sys-
tem update.

2.

Open programming tool JetSym.

3.

Navigate to the 

Hardware

 pane.

4.

Click on the 

Hardware

 node and open the shortcut menu e.g. by pressing the

right mouse button

5.

Select 

Update OS

.

The dialog box 

Operating system update

 opens.

6.

Click 

Select OS File ...

.

ð

The file selection dialog opens.

7.

Select the corresponding OS file and click 

Open

.

The OS file is displayed in the 

Operating system update

 dialog.

8.

Click on 

Update

The OS update is running.

Restart the bus node.

The updated operating system is launched.
