SAS 712 U Series User Manual
Basically all JetCentral UI input boxes that require IP address support both IPv4 and IPv6 formats
unless it will state differently otherwise. Because IPv6 deployment is an undergoing process and
hasn’t been adopted completely. Not all data services and network services support IPv6. Below is
the summary of limits and features.
In Automatic mode, the network environment needs to have IPv6-enabled router (router
advertisement device) present. So JetStor unified storage system can get the network ID
(prefix) from RA device and calculate the unique host IPv6 address.
Link-local IPv6 address will not be used for connection and will not be displayed in JetCentral.
Data services supporting IPv6 are :
JetCentral management, CIFS, NFS, FTP, iSCSI, remote replication, SSH, and LDAP
There will be no DNS information coming from DHCPv6 server.
