How to create “
Read cache
” and “
Write cache
”?
1.
Make sure you have added proper SSD drives to the system. In the
Vendor
field, only
SSD drive with coded “JetStor” string can be used as SSD cache.
2.
Go to
Add disks -> Read cache
. Select the SSD drive(s) you want to use for read cache.
Only qualified SSD drives will be listed for user selection. Others will be filtered out.
3.
Click Ok to set the read cache.
4.
Repeat step 1~3 to set the write cache.
TIP:
Only SSD drives can be used as SSD cache, which includes read cache
(L2ARC) and write cache (ZIL, ZFS Intent Log).
