ALWAYS CONSULT YOUR THERAPIST OR MEDICAL PRACTITIONER BEFORE USING THIS PRODUCT.
Width of the thoracic or hip support pads
How?
The two individual thoracic or hip support pads can be adjusted to accommodate wider or narrower
children. The pads should support your child but not exert undue pressure. The support pads help to keep
your child’s spine straight whilst they stand. Adjust the pads so that they are the correct width for your
child and they can be angled slightly to run with the contour of your child’s chest/hips. For each individual
side support pad, loosen the two small black wing nuts (fig 6) and move the pad. Tighten wing nuts.
Why?
The thoracic or hip support pads help to keep your child straight and symmetrical. This improves their
posture and should improve their function both in standing and in their hand skills. Leave a two finger wide
space between the top of the thoracic support pads and your child’s armpit.

Always secure the child by using all of the positioning straps and safety straps provided. Velcro
should overlap by at least 3 inches
(7.5 cm)
on all straps before you begin to make any other
adjustments. Ensure the safety strap and positioning strap are adjusted for each child and for
changes of clothing.
