Making & Using the Adjustments
POSITIONING SUGGESTIONS GIVEN IN THIS SECTION SHOULD BE TREATED AS A GUIDE ONLY. YOU SHOULD
ALWAYS CONSULT YOUR THERAPIST OR MEDICAL PRACTITIONER BEFORE USING THIS PRODUCT.
Straps
Hip and Thoracic straps: (both adjust in the same way)
How?
The webbing portion of the broad strap passes through
the supports and is secured using the swiss lock buckle
(fig 10). Use the Velcro in the middle of the strap to fix
your child safely into the stander and then fine tune their
position using the webbing portion of the strap. Secure
swiss lock. Never place the hip strap so low that it is below
their hips as they may sit on it and could fall out. Place
the hip strap to cover their hips to prevent them flexing or
bending at the hips.
Always leave a two finger wide space between the top of
the thoracic support pads and your child’s armpit.
Why?
By closing the Velcro in the middle your child is held in the stander so that they cannot fall out. Using the
fine adjustment afforded by the thinner portion of the strap, you can control the position of your child’s hips
and chest. The straps can be adjusted from both sides to make sure that your child not only stands straight
but that the straps pull over their body symmetrically. This is important because if the strap only adjusted
from one side, your child would be pulled to that side instead of having a straight spine. This helps to
maintain the position of their spine and hips and improves the standing position that they adopt. The velcro
straps should overlap by at least 3” (75mm). Please contact Jenx Limited if your child needs longer straps.
This can happen if, for instance, your child wears a corset or callipers making their girth wider.
Webbing safety straps
How?
The webbing safety strap is adjusted for length using the tri-glide and is secured by the clip buckle.

Always secure the child by using all of the positioning straps and safety straps provided. Velcro
should overlap by at least 3 inches
(7.5 cm)
on all straps before you begin to make any other
adjustments. Ensure the safety strap and positioning strap are adjusted for each child and for
changes of clothing.
