PLU CODE CONFIGURATION ON "SPECIAL" BAR-CODES
It's possible to define on G-556, by the setting described here below, the modality
with which the ECR manages PLU codes read by using the Scanner.
This function, enough particular, has been thought in order to satisfy very specific
requirements ; it allows in fact to define which part of a bar-code read, must be used for the
PLU searching in the ECR's memory.
This parametrizzation has effect only in case of internal PLU ; in case of external PLU
on PC, memory box, etc... it doesn't have effect. Moreover, this parametrizzation has effect
on codes PLU read by Scanner only, so it hasn't effect on PLU codes input manually by
keyboard.
Once defined the part of Bar-code read by scanner that must to be used from G-556
like "PLU code" to search in the memory, the ECR will use the code's part set to the search,
but it'll memorize in the LOG memory, in case that the LOG writing is activated, all the code
read from the scanner. This is important in case that there is a PC, connect to ECR, that
will use the LOG data for managerial use, in order to make available to the PC all the
complete information to the read code.
An example that can help to understand the use of this function can be that one of
the case in which on the ECR one or more dressing article are sold, than as an example can
be "SHOCK 34.000", an article therefore that has an only one description and an only one
price but that can have more sizes and more colors. Identifying in the bar-code the first
five digits like the article code and remaining digits like size and color, it will be possible to
sell articles of various sizes and/or colors activating on receipt the same description and the
same price (this will help you to save memory on the ECR) but it'll give the possibility,
unloading at the working day end the LOG data, to have on the PC the exact and complete
informations of how many articles are been sold for size and color.

AA
=
Position of first digit on the left of PLU code in the complete bar-code read
from the Scanner (from 01 to 12).
BB
=
Number of digits of length of the PLU code with which executing the search
inside of the ECR's memory (from 00 to 13).
Note :
F
If BB = 00 the PLU code will begin from the digit defined by AA and will finish to
the last digit of the code read by the scanner.
F
The result of sum AA+BB cannot never exceed 13.
F
The setting default is
: AA
= 01
BB
= 00
that means "not effect" on the definition of the code read like code PLU, so all
the code read from the scanner will be considered like PLU code.
Example :
Bar-code = 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 0 1 2 8
a : Color code
b : PLU code
AA
= 03
c : Size code
BB
= 07
d : Check Sum
