Moving A Disabled Machine
Introduction
The machine can be lifted onto a trailer for transportation.
However, you must contact the nearest JCB Dealer before
you try to tow, winch or push the machine. Towing,
winching or pushing the machine without following the
correct procedure will damage the hydraulic pumps. If
possible, repair the disabled machine where it stands.
Lowering the Boom in an Emergency
The excavator is fitted with an accumulator. The
accumulator stores a limited amount of hydraulic pressure
for use in an emergency (engine failure for example). This
hydraulic pressure should be used to position the dipper
and lower the boom into a safe position.
Do not attempt to operate other machine functions as this
will deplete the hydraulic pressure in the accumulator and
it may then not be possible to position the dipper and lower
the boom.
In the event of a emergency:
1
Turn the ignition to the 'ON' position.
2
Lower the control lock lever.
3
Use the right and left control levers to position the
dipper and lower the boom, refer to
Operating
Levers (Operation Section)
.
4
Vent the hydraulics, refer to
Releasing the Hydraulic
Pressure (Maintenance Section)
.
