NOTICE TO OPERATORS, MAINTENANCE AND CLEANUP PERSONNEL
REMOVE ANY MALFUNCTIONING MACHINE FROM SERVICE
REPORT ANY PROBLEMS TO YOUR SUPERVISOR
1. Always
shut off the power to the machine in accordance with OSHA’s lockout/tagout procedures (29
CFR 1910.147) before making any blade changes.
2. Always
shut off the power to the machine and dissipate or restrain stored energy in the machine in accor-
dance with OSHA’s lockout/tagout procedures (29 CFR 1910.147) before performing any repair or
maintenance.
3. Always
shut off the power to the machine -- or have the power to the machine shut off -- in accordance
with OSHA’s lockout/tagout procedures (29 CFR 1910.147) before performing any cleanup.
4. Always
shut off the power to the machine when the machine is not being used.
5. Clean up
any spilled or leaked hydraulic fluid.
6. Never
put fingers, hands or other parts of the body on the cutting edge, in the cutting path or in the path
of moving parts of the machine.
7. Never
operate the machine with a safety guard removed.
Report or replace any damaged guards
.
8. Test
the tool prior to use or daily.
Depress
each start button separately and the machine should not start.
Depress
one start button, then pause one second and depress the other start button and the machine
should not start.
Repeat
this procedure reversing the start buttons.
Depress
both start buttons simulta-
neously and the machine should start. With the machine running, release one start button and the ma-
chine should stop.
Continue
holding the depressed start button and then depress the other start button.
The machine should not start.
Repeat
this procedure holding the other start button.
If the tool malfunc-
tions, remove it from service and report or repair it immediately
.
9. Never
depress the start button(s) unless you want to use the machine.
10. Never
make modifications or alterations to the machine.
Replace any missing or illegible labels.
Keep hands clear.
