INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE AND OPERATION
FOR THE SYSTEM MANAGER
FIRST START-UP
• Check that installation is complete in every detail.
• Check that the cartridge filters are present inside the skimmer
(see the chapter “Maintenance of cartridge filter”).
• Remove the thermal cover of the MaxiJacuzzi
®
.
• Check that the drain valve (
2, detail C
) is closed.
NOTE:
if it has not already been installed, take the plug out
of the bag of accessories and screw it into the drain valve.
• Check that all the hydromassage intakes are open.
• Turn on the all-pole circuit breaker located on the power sup-
ply line (see the chapter "Electrical Connections" and safety).
• Press the TEST button of the residual current operated circuit
breaker located upstream from the electrical system to which the
MaxiJacuzzi
®
is connected. If it does not trip, it may be faulty or
it may have tripped due to problems in the electrical system of
the building.
Disconnect the MaxiJacuzzi
®
and do not use it until you
have identified and eliminated the defect.
• Fill the MaxiJacuzzi
®
up to the level mark on the skimmer (
2, part.B
).
NOTE:
Filling will be performed as decided beforehand by
the Customer (see pre-installation sheet, chapter “Prepara-
tion for installation”).
If you use the hose for garden work, let water run for a
while before filling the MaxiJacuzzi. This will eliminate
stagnant water in the hose along with any bacteria that
may cause irritations.
CAUTION
We recommend you have the water that you in-
tend to use to fill the MaxiJacuzzi
®
analyzed, e-
specially for water hardness. Water that is too
soft or too hard may damage some of the com-
ponents of the tub (see the section on "Water
hardness"); whereas impurities in well water may
clog the cartridge filters and create problems
with the pumps and the hydraulic system.
• Check the operation of the hydromassage pumps with the keys
“Pump 1”
and
“Pump 2”
.
• Check blower operation by pressing the
“Blower”
key.
• Check that the spotlights switch on and off using the
“Light”
key.
• Check that there are no leaks from the hydraulic connections
or other problems
• Completely disinfect the MaxiJacuzzi by carrying out
"
super-
chlorination
” treatment (also called
shock treatment
, see
chapter on
"Water treatment”
).
This operation is recommended when installing, or after a long
period of not using the MaxiJacuzzi
®
.
• After a few hours, turn off
the
all pole
circuit
breaker (
mains
dis-
connect
switch
,
see the chapter on “Electrical Connections”)
.
• Open the drain valve and completely empty the bath.
WARNING
Do not use the MaxiJacuzzi
®
the first time you s-
tart it as there is a high concentration of chlorine
in the water during this phase.
Immediately empty the bath
.
• Close the drain valve and re-fill the MaxiJacuzzi
®
with fresh wa-
ter up to the level mark on the skimmer.
• Turn
the
mains
disconnect switch back on
,
setup the filtration
cycle according to the customer's needs, and program a water
treatment cycle.
WATER TREATMENT
The water must be “inviting”, that is, clear, limpid and free from
those substances that, accumulating, can create a suitable
environment for the growth and spread of bacteria; for this
reason, as well as being filtered continuously, the water must
be chemically treated by using appropriate additives.
There are many products on the market for water disinfection
and they vary in terms of cost and method of use.
The suggestions provided here cover only the general
aspect of a complicated topic such as water treatment.
If special problems or situations occur, it is advisable
to contact specialised companies, who will unques-
tionably be able to provide the best solution.
Disinfectants for spas and pools
Certain disinfectants used in large swimming pools, such as
chlorine, calcium hypochlorite and sodium hypochlorite, are
not suitable for spas.
Chlorine tablets permanently stain the methacrylate (after pro-
longed direct contact), calcium hypochlorite (normally available
in granules) encourages calcium deposits and sodium
hypochlorite (which is liquid) will permanently damage the
methacrylate if poured onto it directly.
“Chloroisocyanurates” are chloro-organic derivatives that are more
suitable for spas; moreover, these products are particularly suit-
able if the MaxiJacuzzi is located outdoors, as they act as stabi-
lizers and prevent sunlight from depleting the action of chlorine.
Another type of disinfectant is bromine; this has an advantage
over chlorine, in that it is less of an irritant, has less influence on
the pH level and has no smell. Furthermore, unlike chlorine,
bromine does not separate into “combined” and “free” forms.
