8N-106
• If leakage is ½ to 1 gpm (1.9 to 3.8 lpm), motor is
marginal.
• If leakage is over 1 gpm (3.8 lpm) motor may be
faulty.
39.Open flow meter load valve and slow engine to
low idle speed.
40.Shut off the engine and remove the ignition key.
41.Proceed to Front Left Reel Motor Flow Test.
Left Front Reel Motor Test
Front reel pump, front reel valve, right and center front
reel motor flow test must be performed before perform-
ing this test.
Flow meter connections remain the same from the pre-
vious valve test. Carefully follow the steps to set up for
this test.
42.Install suitable blocking device or tool in right front
cutting unit, preventing cutting unit from turning.
43.Fully open the flow meter load valve
.
44.Set parking brake, start engine, and advance
engine speed to full throttle.
45.Slowly close tester load valve until 1600 psi (110
Bar) is indicated on the pressure gauge. Record
flow indication (d) on “Front Reel Circuit Test
Record” (Figure 8N-13).
46.Subtract flow indication (d) from flow indication (c).
The result is left front reel motor leakage.
Conclusion
• If leakage is less that ½ gpm (1.9 lpm), motor is not
at fault.
• If leakage is ½ to 1 gpm (1.9 to 3.8 lpm), motor is
marginal.
• If leakage is over 1 gpm (3.8 lpm) motor may be
faulty.
47.Open flow meter load valve and slow engine to
low idle speed.
48.Shut off the engine and remove the ignition key.
49.Proceed to Rear Reel Circuit Flow Test.
WARNING
Safely block cutting unit from rotating using a suit-
able device or tool. Failure to follow appropriate
safety precaution may result in death or serious
injury.
WARNING
The cutting units may rotate during this test.
• Be careful when working around rotating cutting
units.
• Failure to follow appropriate safety precautions
may result in death or serious injury.
