Mount Your Cartridge
Mounting your cartridge to your tonearm is specific to the arm and cartridge you have chosen, so this
manual does not cover this process.
Do not worry about the alignment yet because you first need to adjust the position, and possibly the
height, of the Armboard in the next step.
16.
Set Geometry / Adjust the Arm Placement
Now that you have attached your arm to the Armboard and mounted your cartridge, you can position
the Armboard to set the proper geometry for your cartridge. Your J.Sikora turntable is extremely flexible
in this regard. In this Step, you will configure the location of you tonearm to achieve property geometry.
16.1.
Set the Vertical Tracking Angle (VTA)
You should use your tonearm’s
mechanisms for adjusting the VTA. If
you cannot set your tonearm to the
proper VTA, you will need replace the
currently installed Riser with a Riser of a
different height (taller or shorter).
To
swap
Risers
you
must:
1) Remove the installed tonearm and
Armboard.
2) Change the Riser.
3) Re-install the Armboard with
tonearm.

16.2.
Set Proper Geometry
There are 4 options for positioning the tonearm to obtane the correct geomtry:
1) Rotating the tonearm within the Arm Tower.
2) Rotating the entire Armboard.
3) Adjusting the distance of the Arm Pod on the Armboard.
4) Sliding the entire arm assembly by moving the Arm Tower along its track on the Chassis.
Each type of adjustment is described below. As with most fine turntables, this will be an an iterative
process of adjustments.
