Starting Setup
The Awa rd BIOS is immedia tely a ctiva ted when you first power on the computer.
The BIOS rea ds the system informa tion conta ined in the CMOS a nd begins the
process of checking out the system a nd configuring it. When it finishes, the BIOS
will seek a n opera ting system on one of the disks a nd then la unch a nd turn control
over to the opera ting system.
While the BIOS is in control, the Setup progra m ca n be a ctiva ted in one of two
wa ys:
1.
By pressing <Del> immedia tely a fter switching the system on, or
2.
by pressing the <Del> key when the following messa ge a ppea rs briefly a t the
bottom of the screen during the POST (Power On Self Test).
Press DEL to enter SETUP.
If the messa ge disa ppea rs before you respond a nd you still wish to enter
Setup, resta rt the system to try a ga in by turning it OFF then ON or pressing
the "RESET" button on the system ca se. You ma y a lso resta rt by
simulta neously pressing <Ctrl>, <Alt>, a nd <Delete> keys. If you do not
press the keys a t the correct time a nd the system does not boot, a n error
messa ge will be displa yed a nd you will a ga in be a sked to...
Press <F1> to continue, <DEL> to enter SETUP
Using Setup
In genera l, you use the a rrow keys to highlight items, press <Enter> to select, use
the Pa geUp a nd Pa geDown keys to cha nge entries, press <F1> for help a nd press
<Esc> to quit. The following ta ble provides mo re deta il a bout how to na viga te in
the Setup progra m using the keyboa rd.
Up arrow
Move to previous item
Down arrow
Move to next item
Left arrow
Move to the item in the left hand
Right arrow
Move to the item in the right hand
Esc key
Main Menu -- Quit and not save changes into CMOS
Status Page Setup Menu and Option Page Setup Menu -- Exit
current page and return to Main Menu
PgUp key
Increase the numeric value or make changes
PgDn key
Decrease the numeric value or make changes
