5.2.6. Overweight
If the dynamometer is loaded with a weight exceeding the maximum allowable rated load, the display
shows the message “Overweight” (Fig. 14). This message disappears automatically as soon as the
applied load goes below the dynamometer’s rated load. A non-continuous dynamometer loading within
150-200% of the device rated load does not produce any deformation of the load cell. A load of 200% of
the rated load, even for a short time, produces deformation of the load cell such that no repair of the load
cell is possible and it must be replaced with a new one.
