Lundy 5kW Operation Manual - 19.02.16

CLEANING THE HEAT EXCHANGER

The heatex tubes found inside the firebox should be cleaned every month (or every 200kg of fuel

burnt). This is done by removing the baffle plate to access the heatex tubes (x4), clean the ash

from the heatex tubes either with a brush or ash vacuum. Ensure all four tubes are clean before

remounting the baffle plate.

ANNUAL MAINTENANC E

Authorized personnel must clean the stove and heat exchanger annually. You should therefore call

the technical support service. It is suggested you carry out this operation after the cold season has

finished.

FLUE

The flue ducts must be vacuumed to prevent the build up of particulate matter. It is important this is

carried out when necessary and at least once a year. Failure to clean the flue may affect the safe

operation of the stove.

CARBON MONOXIDE ALARM

Building regulations require that whenever a new or replacement fixed solid fuel or wood/biomass

appliance is installed in a dwelling a carbon monoxide (CO) alarm must be fitted in the same room

as the appliance. Further guidance on the installation of the carbon monoxide alarm is available in

BS EN 50292:2002 and from the alarm manufacturer’s instructions. Provision of an alarm must not

be considered a substitute for either installing the appliance correctly or ensuring regular servicing

and maintenance of the appliance and chimney system.
