Safe use
•
Read and observe the safety notes in these operating instructions!
• Use the device in accordance with its intended and approved purpose only!
• We cannot be held liable for damage caused by incorrect or unauthorized use or
non-compliance with these operating instructions.
• Before installation and commissioning, make sure that the device is not damaged.
• Work on the device (installation, maintenance, overhaul, repair) may only be carried out by
appropriately authorised and trained personnel.
• During installation and operation, observe the information (characteristic values and rated operating
conditions) on the rating, data and information plates located on the device.
• Always consult with R. STAHL Schaltgeräte GmbH if operating conditions deviate from the technical
data.
• The temperature input module Type 9482/33 is approved for use in gas hazardous
areas of Zone 2 and in the safe area.
• The temperature input module Type 9482/33 is approved for use in dust hazardous
areas of Zone 22.
• When operated in gas or dust hazardous areas, the module must be installed in an
enclosure which meets the requirements of IEC/EN 60079-0.
• The module may only be mounted on the BusRail 9494.
• A distance of 50 mm must be maintained between intrinsically safe
and non-intrinsically safe field circuits.
• Modules with intrinsically safe and non-intrinsically safe field circuits may be operated simultaneously
on one BusRail. In this case, a distance of 50 mm must be maintained between the terminals with
intrinsically safe and non-intrinsically safe field circuits (e.g. partition 220101 or empty space).
• The safety-related maximum values of the connected field devices must match the values of the
modules according to data sheet, operating instructions or EC Type Examination Certificate and
certificates.
• Interconnection of several active intrinsically safe field circuits can result in deviating safety-related
maximum values. This can endanger the intrinsic safety so that an appropriate proof must be provided.
• Electric circuits with type of protection "Ex i" operated with circuits with other types of protection can no
longer be operated as circuits with type of protection "Ex i" after that.
• Modules and plug connectors may be connected and disconnected during operation in hazardous areas
(hot swap und hot plug).
•
To avoid electrostatic charging, the modules located in hazardous areas must be cleaned with a moist
cloth only.
