Metal Cutting
Note:
Metals such as pipe, steel rods, sheet steel, aluminum, brass, and copper can be cut with the
reciprocating saw.
Note:
To cut thin sheet material, "sandwich" the material between hardboard or plywood, and clamp
the layers to limit vibration and material tearing.
Note:
Always use a fine-toothed metal cutting blade and run the saw at medium speeds when cutting
metal.
After Each Use
⚠
WARNING
Never touch the blade during or immediately after use. After use, the blade is too hot to be
touched.
Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the
power tool or these instructions to operate the power tool.
Maintenance
Maintain the saw by adopting a program of conscientious repair and maintenance in accordance with
the following recommended procedures. It is recommended that the general condition of any tool be
examined before it is used. Keep your tool in good repair. Keep all cutting tools sharp and clean.
Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to
control. Keep handles dry, clean, and free from oil and grease. The following chart is based on a
normal operation schedule.
