3.
Basic operation
The EVOS
™
XL Imaging System uses both mechanical and software controls for
operation. Mechanical controls include the stage X-Y axis knobs, focus knobs, and
the objective selection wheel. Software controls are located in the control bars at
the bottom of the screen. The login button displays the current user ID.

1.
Turn on the instrument using the power switch
on the right side of the instrument base.
2.
Plug a USB flash drive into one of the USB ports
on the right side of the instrument arm.
3.
Place the sample on the stage, using a vessel
holder if needed.
4.
Set the magnification using the objective selection wheel located in the front
of the instrument.
