2. Modules’ destination
Designed with the latest GSM/GPRS technology solutions Telemetry Modules MT-
301/302/303/304 are dedicated, monitoring market oriented devices for efficient data
transmission over GSM/GPRS network in packet and SMS transmission modes
simultaneously. This product line provides cost effective solution not only for small
telemetry and security applications but also for scalable, multi-node data acquisition
systems where local control and communication with external devices is not required. MT-
301 module provides four binary inputs, two binary outputs and two analog inputs (4-
20mA).The module has a metal casing with the possibility of mounting on DIN rail, built-in
battery, real time clock and RTC. Its firmware and configuration is stored on nonvolatile
Flash memory with the possibility of remote update and reconfiguration. Other models of
MT-3xx series differ only in available I/O resources: MT-302 8DI, MT-303 6DI/2DI, MT-304
7DI/1AI.
3. GSM requirements
For proper operation, the module needs a SIM card supplied by a GSM operator providing
GPRS and/or SMS services.
The GPRS/enabled SIM card has to be registered in the APN with static IP addressing. The
unique IP address of the SIM card is an identification for the module within the APN. This
enables module-to-module and module-to-server communication within the APN structure.
A good and strong GSM signal in the place where the module's antenna is located is
imperative for the proper function of the module. Using the module in places where the
signal is weak may lead to interruptions in transmission and possible loss of transmitted
data along with increased costs generated by transmission retries.
