Adjusting Twenty-Seven Speed Cassette Chain
NOTE: For this procedure, refer to FIGURE 8.9 on page 58.
1. Loosen, but DO NOT remove the clamp that secure the crank handles to the fork.
2. Slide the crank handles up and/or down until the proper tension on the chain is
achieved.
NOTE: The proper chain tension will be approximately ½-inch of chain slack.
NOTE: If crank is in desired position but chain tension is not correct, links MUST be added to or
removed from the chain to correct the tension. This should be performed by a qualified technician.
3. Tighten the clamp that secure the crank handles to the fork securely.
