When the basket becomes full, the
bin full LED
(Fig. 1/5) will light up. The shredder will remain
inoperable until the wastebasket is emptied
(3.4 „Emptying the receptacle“).
3 .3 Shredder capacity
The
intimus 34 CP7
will shred up to five sheets paper
and will accept widths up to 220 mm. When shredding
small material like envelopes, receipts insert them in
the middle of the feed opening (Fig. 1/8).
3 .4 Emptying the receptacle
The
intimus 34 CP7
is equipped with an electronic
basket full sensor. When the wastebasket becomes
full, the BIN FULL LED (Fig. 1/5) will then illuminate.
Proceed as follows:
1 .
Remove the receptacle from in front of the machi-
ne and empty its contents.
2 .
Replace the empty receptacle under the machine
and push all the way to the back.
NOTE!
The machine will only run when the receptacle
is pushed completely into the machine!
3 .5 Cautions for operating
Caution!
Damage to the machine!
Ì
When manually changing feed direction,
pause long enough for the motor to stop.
Ì
Always turn off or unplug the shredder
prior to moving, cleaning or emptying the
wastebasket.
Ì
Empty the wastebasket frequently to avoid
possible paper jams caused by shredded
material being pulled back into the cutter
assembly.
Ì
Always limit continuous shredding to the
specified time as suggested in the instruc-
tion manual
4 Malfunctions
Caution!
Danger of injury!
Be sure to keep fingers and any personal
effects away from the throat of the feed
opening while the shredder cutters are in
motion.
4 .1 Motor overload
The
intimus 34 CP7
is equipped with an automatic
motor overload protection circuit. The duty cycle for
the
intimus 34 CP7
is rated for 30 Min. ON / 30 Min.
OFF. The
intimus 34 CP7
will automatically terminate
power in case of the following abnormal situations:
Operating the shredder at the maximum 5 -sheet
capacity continuously for a prolonged period of
time.
Exceeding the shredding capacity, eg. inserting
more than five sheets paper in one pass, or if the
paper is not fed squarely into the feed opening.
Both abnormal operations may result in the activation
of the automatic thermal motor overload protection
circuit, which terminates the power to the shredde.r
A paper jam could cause the thermal motor overload
protection to terminate AC power to the motor. Never
allow the shredder to remain in a jammed condition
with the AC power turned on.
lf this occurs you should:
4 .2 In case of a minor paper jam
In case of a minor paper jam the
overload LED
(Fig. 1/4) will light up.
1 .
Grasp the excess paper from the top and pull it out
as you depress the REVERSE button (Fig. 1/6). Be
careful not to place your fingers near the feed ope-
ning or else serious harm could result.
2 .
Make sure that all of the excess paper has been re-
moved from the feed opening.
3 .
You are now ready to resume normal shredding.
4 .3 In case of a major paper jam
In case of a major paper jam the
overheat LED
(Fig. 1/3)
will light up.
1 .
Turn off or unplug the power cord from the AC
outlet and wait at least 30 minutes for the thermal
overload protection to reset.
2 .
Plug in the AC power cord and depress the ON/
OFF button (Fig. 1/1).
3 .
lf paper was left inside the feed opening prior to
the overload, press the REVERSE button (Fig. 1/6)
