Some coolant level drop on new vehicles is normal as the
system is purging itself of trapped air. Observe coolant
levels and maintain as recommended by adding coolant to
the overflow bottle.
DANGER:
Radiator coolant is under pressure when the
vehicle is hot. Escaping steam can cause
burns. NEVER remove the radiator pressure
cap while the engine is warm or hot. Always
allow the engine to cool before removing the
pressure cap.
Adding or Changing Coolant
We recommend coolant to be drained and replaced every
two years with premixed, ready-to-use antifreeze that
consists of 50% antifreeze and 50% distilled water. Do not
dilute premixed antifreeze with water. Keep the overflow
bottle filled to the recommended level.
Radiator and Cooling Fan
Always keep the radiator screen clean and free of mud
and debris. Do not obstruct or deflect air flow through the
radiator by installing unauthorized accessories in front of
the radiator or behind the cooling fan. Interference with the
radiator air flow can lead to overheating and consequent
engine damage. Do not spray the radiator with a high
pressure hose as it could damage the radiator fins and
impair effectiveness.
The electric cooling fan is on a temperature switch and will
automatically turn on when needed. Periodically check the
fuse and fan to be sure it is working properly.
