Make sure that the safety pressure unit is working properly by pressing
on the diaphragm, making sure that it springs back immediately when
releasing the pressure.

If using a BC and/or a dry-suit: Check that they can be inflated by
activating the inflation function. Also check that the dump valves are
functional.
7.
Check the the breathing valve(s): Breathe in the breathing valve / mask to
make sure that the breahing gas is of good quality and that the breathing
resistance is normal
Warning
When it is below zero degrees the breathing valve(s)
should be checked in a warm room or under water to
prevent freezing.
8.
For breathing valve with safety pressure and octopus breathing valve:
Push the lever to closed position.
