6.2.3 Faulty probe
If error messages appear during testing or if one or more of the TE bands has a checkmark above it at the
end of the test, the probe test has failed.
The most common cause of a probe test failure is wax or debris in the probe tip. Check and clean the probe
tip for wax or debris and redo the probe test. If the probe functions correctly after removing wax or debris,
continued use of the probe to test patients is ok.
If the probe status indicates “Too noisy”, t
his indicates that the environment is too noisy for testing or there is
a probe fault. Stop the test, clean the probe and/or move to a quieter area and perform the test again.
If the probe test still indicates a faulty probe after a second test, the Eclipse
must not be used to test on
patients. Contact your local distributor for assistance.
