INTERCOM, OUTSIDE, AND FEATURE
DIRECTORIES
The optional directories allow you to “look up” extension numbers, system
speed-dial numbers, and feature codes, and their associated names. If search-
ing for a name, you do not need to enter the full name. The system will find the
closest match and show the number and its associated name on your display. If
desired, you can then dial the displayed number.
To perform a directory search:

to select the intercom directory, press

number directory, or press

to select the feature code directory.

Enter letters or numbers (up to 10 characters) as described below:
•
Remain in alphanumeric mode: Press the keypad buttons to enter the
desired characters. (Refer to the following chart.) The number of
times a button is pressed determines which character is entered. For
example, 77776444844 would enter “SMITH.” You need a FOR-
WARD button to enter adjoining characters that are located under
the same button or to leave spaces. For adjoining characters, press
the FORWARD button once to advance to the next character. For ex-
ample, 66FWD6667776 would enter “NORM.” (Note that letters
correspond to the letters printed on keypad buttons 1–9.) Press the
FORWARD button twice to leave a space.
