Configure Static MAC Addresses
Description
Static MAC addresses are MAC addresses that remain in the switch’s
address table, whether the device is physically connected to the switch.
After you define a static MAC address, it remains in the switch’s address
table until you remove it.
Enter MAC: Type the MAC address you want to permanently add to the
address table.
VLAN or VLAN ID (when port-based or tag-based VLANs are
running): When VLANs are active on the switch you can define static
MAC addresses for each VLAN. If port-based VLANs are active press
the
z
to select a VLAN. If tag-based VLANs are active type the
VLAN ID that the static MAC address will be assigned to.
NOTE
If tag-based or port-based
VLANs are currently running,
you must assign each static
MAC address to a specific
VLAN.
Select switch: Use the
z
to select the switch you want to
configure.
Select port: Use the
z
to select a port on the switch where the
switch forwards traffic.
ADD/DELETE: Use these buttons to add or remove a MAC address
from the switch’s table.
