Chapter Five Operation System Installation
partitions and unpartitioned spaces on this computer are displayed, click <Drive
options> to carry out the following operations:

Select an existed disk partition, and then click <Delete> to delete.
⊙
Select an existed disk partition, and then click <Format> to format.
⊙
Select an unpartitioned disk space, and then click <New> to create a new
partition.
You could carry out operation according to actual needs. Here we take no partition
created on disk for example:
(1) Select an unallocated space on disk, then click <New>, delete numbers in Size
input box, input disk partition size (unit is MB) to be created, and then click <Apply>
to continue, if a con
fi
rmation window pops up, click <OK> to continue.
Note: It is suggested the partition shall be above 30GB.
(2) Select the newly created disk partition, and then click <Format>, click <OK>
in con
fi
rmation interface to continue.
(3) After formatting partition, click <Next> to continue.
12. System starts to install Windows, and system will complete operations such as
“Copying
fi
les”, “Expanding Windows
fi
les”, “Installing features”, “Installing updates”
and “Completing installation” etc., during this process, system may reboot for several
times automatically.
13. After installation completes, system will boot to “The user’s password must be
changed before logging on the
fi
rst time.” interface, take out installation CD, and click
<OK> to continue.
Note: The above installation steps of Windows Server 2008 operation system,
may be different for different editions of system CD used, please carry out operation
according to actually displayed interface.
14. Set Administrator password according to prompt, and then click the arrow on
the right of password input box, if the password complies with requirement, system
will prompt “Your password has been changed.”, and then click <OK> to con
fi
rm the
password has been changed.
Windows Server 2008 requires a strong-typed password, so password shall
contain letters, numbers and special characters, otherwise, the setting will not succeed.
15. After login, on “Initial Con
fi
guration Tasks” interface, select “Do not show
this window at logon” under below, and then click <Close>, on “Server Manager”
