Advanced Settings
The Advanced Settings window, shown below, displays the MAC address Age-out Time, Broadcast
Storm Filter, and 802.1p Priority. Some settings (e.g., Age-out time) can be changed by editing the
values displayed in the box. Each advanced setting is described below:
MAC Address Age-out Time
Type the number of seconds that an inactive MAC address remains in the switch's address table.
The valid range is 300 to 765 seconds. Default is 300 seconds.
Max Bridge Transmit Delay Bound Control
This setting limits the packets queuing time in the switch. If enabled, the queued packets that exceed
the delay bound setting will be dropped. Valid values are 1, 2 and 4 seconds and Off.
Enable Low Queue Delay Bound
This setting limits the low priority packets queuing time in the switch. If the low priority packet
queued up in switch exceed Max Delay Time, it will be dropped. The valid range is 1to 255 ms.
Note
The Max Bridge Transit Delay Bound Control must be enabled before Low Queue Delay Bound is enabled.
Broadcast Storm Filter
To configure broadcast storm control, enable it and set the upper threshold for individual ports. The
threshold is the percentage of the port's total bandwidth used by broadcast traffic. When broadcast
traffic for a port rises above the threshold you set, broadcast storm control becomes active. The
valid threshold value are 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25% and Off.
Priority Queue Service Settings
The Priority Queue settings allow the user to choose the processing method for packets queued for
a port.
First Come First Service
This setting determines that the sequence of packets sent is dependent on order of arrival.
All High before Low
This setting determines that the high priority packets are sent before low priority packets.
