PLACING TOOL IN SERVICE
CHANGING THE ROUTER BIT
To change a Router Bit, proceed as follows:
1.
Using a 5/64” hex wrench, loosen the Adapter Lock
Screw. Unscrew and remove the assembled Nosepiece
Adapter.
2.
Insert the Sprag Pin into the hole in the side of the
Motor Clamp Nut and rotate the Collet Nut until the
Pin sprags the flat on the Collet Body.
3.
Using one of the Collet wrenches, loosen the Collet
Nut. Remove the router bit and insert the new bit into
the Collet. Tighten the Collet Nut.
4.
Remove the Sprag Pin and install the assembled
Nosepiece Adapter over the bit and thread it onto the
Motor Clamp Nut. Tighten the Adapter between 2 and
3 ft–lb (2.7 and 4.0 Nm) torque.
5.
Using a 5/64” hex wrench, tighten Adapter Lock Screw
between 12 and 18 in–lb (1.3 and 2.0 Nm) torque.
