LED repeats 5 flash sequence
It is very rare that a thermal switch opens under too little heat.
Right at shutdown you can unplug the projector and use a
multimeter to check the thermal switch. (page 69)
If it measures infinite resistance (open), the thermal switch is bad.
Projector shuts down after detecting high temperature
condition. LED flashes in repeated five-flash sequence.
Replace the controller ECA.
(page 21)
Substitute a good power supply and
run projector long enough to know if
that is the problem.
(page 39)
Yes
This is a thermal problem. If
a fan isn't running it causes
a power up problem
because fans have a
sensor line that prevents
the projector from properly
starting up.
Is the thermal
switch good?
Replace the safety switch.
(page 45)
The problem is almost
always a power supply or
controller board with a
thermal breakdown
problem.
No
The safety switch
assembly includes
a thermal switch.
Solve the
problem?
No
Run the projector long enough to
confirm the problem is solved.
Repeat the diagnosis process.
