HQ Infinity Service Manual

There is a spacer in front of the front pulley,
between the bearing and the pulley.
NOTE
: On the first HQ Infinity machines
there was also a spacer at the back timing
pulley between the bearing and the pulley.
On later machines the back bearing mount
is split to facilitate changing the timing belt
should it ever need to be changed. This
split bearing mount is wider, so a spacer is
no longer needed between the back timing
pulley and the bearing.
The front pulley is the small tooth pulley for the motor drive belt. The flange and set screws are oriented
to the front of the machine.
The back pulley is the large tooth pulley for the double sided timing belt. The flange and set screws are
oriented to the back of the machine.
To check the rear hook shaft
Any gap in this assembly is set to be between
the two pulleys. In other words, the front pulley
is pushed towards the front spacer and bearing
internal race and then tightened. The back pulley
is pushed against the back spacer and bearing
internal race and tightened.
NOTE
: The pulleys really act only as a backup to insure the bearings cannot move in or out of their
mounts if any play happens to exist in the mounts.
There should be no axial play in the hook shaft when pushed front to back in the bottom frame extrusion.
