6.1 What is DAB+?
DAB+ is a digital format that allows you to hear crystal clear sound without noise.
In contrast to conventional analogue radio stations, DAB+ broadcasts several stations on one and
the same frequency. This is called an ensemble or a multiplex.
An ensemble is made up of the radio station and several service components or data services that are broadcast
individually by the radio stations. More information can be found at www.dabplus.de, dabplus.at
or www.dabplus.ch.
6.2 DAB radio mode
Check if your radio is in DAB mode. If you are not yet in DAB mode, briefly press the
Mode button
to switch to DAB
mode (check the display).
The first time you use the radio or if the station list is empty, your radio will automatically search for DAB radio
stations. A progress bar shows the progress of the scan. The number of stations found during the scan is also
displayed.
When the scan is complete, your radio will select the first available station and start playing. By default, stations are
listed in numerical and then alphabetical order.
If you were listening to a DAB station when you switched off the radio, that station will be selected automatically when
you switch the radio on again.
Telescopic antenna
Please make sure the antenna is fully extended before attempting to scan for a DAB+ station (a vertical position is
recommended). This will ensure that the maximum signal strength is available when the radio starts scanning.
6.3 Select DAB+ radio station
1 Press the ◂ or ▸ button to scroll through the available station list.
2 When the station you want to hear is highlighted, press the

It is a good idea to run a manual scan every now and then to make sure you have the most up-to-date list of channels.
If you are not yet in DAB+ mode, briefly press the
Mode
button to switch to DAB+ mode.
1 Hold the
Menu
button to call up the menu options.
2 Select ‘Full Scan’. Briefly press the

button to search for stations.
‘Searching’ appears on the display... A progress bar shows the progress of the search and the number of
stations found during the scans.
