4 Installation
4.1 Securing the machine
The machine can be set up using the optional base frame.
4.2 Connecting product lines
The machine has 2 connections for products lines and one cleaning connection.
The horizontal connection (704) for the introduction of material.
The vertical connection for the product discharge is located in the pump casing
(710).
Below this there is also the cleaning connection.
4.3 Barrier system
4.3.1 Description
The barrier system that belongs to the mechanical seal consists of two pressure
hoses and one reservoir. The hoses have screwed pipe connections at their ends
and are screwed tightly not only to the mechanical seal but also to the barrier reser-
voir. In addition to the two connections for the inlet and the return of the barrier to the
seal, the barrier reservoir also has the following components:

- Pressure gauge to display the system pressure in the barrier system
- Gas filling valve for pressure formation by filling with compressed air/inert
gas
- Inspection glass for the visual check of the liquid level of the barrier
- Drain valve to empty the reservoir
- Barrier filling valve to fill the reservoir without releasing the system pressure
- Cooling connections to cool the barrier by a pipe coil that has been integrated
into the reservoir
4.3.2 Hose connections
In order to be able to ensure the necessary circulation of the barrier by the mechani-
cal seal, the hoses have to be connected correctly to the barrier reservoir.
The connection at the reservoir that is labelled with an arrow that shows down (
↓
)
forms the inlet towards the seal. This hose has to be connected to the connection of
the seal that is labelled with “
IN “.
The connection at the reservoir that is labelled with an arrow that shows up (

the return from the seal towards the reservoir. It has to be connected to the connec-
tion of the seal that is labelled with “
OUT “.
