Hard Drive Installation Procedure
Overview
The NAS-4100 has four hot-swap drive bays, and can install up to four 3.5” IDE
hard disk drives. To make the system ready for access, install the hard drives to
the NAS-4100. Then refer to the chapter 9, “Factory Default Setup”, for steps to
configure the installed hard drives into one disk volume.
Caution: Be sure to use the drive tray for NAS-4100, failed to do so will
damage the system.
For a list of verified hard drive models, please refer to Appendix A. “Hard Drive
Compatibility List.” We strongly recommend customers to use only the tested
hard drive models. IEI cannot guarantee system stability for users who install
drives not specified on this list.
Hard Drive Installation Procedure
To use the NAS-4100, at least one hard disk should be installed. Before installing
the hard drives, please make sure the system is off and the power cord has been
disconnected. Follow below steps to install the hard drives to the NAS-4100.

Press both side locks of the front cover inwards. The cover will open
outward easily.
