5. Heating connections
5.1. Requirements heating connections
The pertinent laws, regulations and standards for
boiler house pipework and also for heat pump sys-
tems must be observed.
- In the heating return a dirt trap must be installed
before the heat pump.
- In the heating return the included
fl
ow switch must
be installed before the heat pump.
- The safety and expansion devices for closed
heating systems pursuant to EN 12828 must be
provided.
- The line dimensioning must comply with the re-
quired
fl
ow volumes.
- The already mounted 30 cm connection hoses for
fl
ow and return makes the connecting of the hy-
draulic piping easier.
- At the highest points of the connection lines venting
options must be provided, and at the lowest points
outlet options.
Oxygen diffusion
In the case of non diffusion-resistant under
fl
oor heat-
ing with plastic pipes or open heating systems, corro-
sion may occur in the steel parts if steel pipes, steel
radiators or storage heating systems are used.
Corrosion products can deposit in the condenser
and lead to a capacity loss of the heat pump or high-
pressure disturbances.
Therefore avoid open heating systems or steel pipe
installations in conjunction with non- diffusion-resis-
tant plastic pipes in under
fl
oor heating.
Heating water quality
Depending on the quality of the heating water cal-
culus may develop (
fi
rmly adhering layer primarily of
calcium carbonate) often on heat exchanger surfaces,
i.e. in the event of a high calcium hydrogen carbonate
content there is the danger of calculus developing.
In the case of systems with a water hardness of more
than 14° dH resp. with a calcium hydrogen carbonate
concentration of over 2.5 mol/m² the heating water
must be processed accordingly (softened/demineral-
ized).
Your water supply company will inform you of the calci-
um hydrogen carbonate concentration c(Ca(HCO3)2)
of your heating water.
The pH value must also be controlled. It must lie
between 8 and 9.5.
