7. Removal from Service/Winterization
General
Special precautions must be taken if the ice machine is to be removed from
service for an extended period of timeor exposed to ambient temperatures of
32°F (0°C) or below.
Caution
If water is allowed to remain in the ice machine
in freezing temperatures, severe damage to
some components could result. Damage of this
nature is not covered by the warranty.
Follow the applicable procedure below.
1. Turn off the water supply.
2. Remove the water from the water trough.
3. Disconnect and drain the incoming ice-making water line at the rear of the ice machine.
4. Place 'ICE/OFF/WASH' switch to 'ICE' and wait for the water inlet and dump
valves to be energized.
5. Blow compressed air in both the incoming water and the drain openings in the
rear of the ice machine until no more water comes out of the water inlet lines or
the drain.
6. Place 'ICE/OFF/WASH switch back to 'OFF' and disconnect the electric power at
the circuit breaker or the electric service switch.
7. Make sure water is not trapped in any of the water lines,
drain lines, distribution tubes, etc.
