remove
the
DIMM
air
baffle,
complete
the
following
steps.

assembly
1.
Read
the
safety
information
that
begins
on
page
vii
and
“Installation
guidelines”
on
page
87.
2.
Turn
off
the
server
and
peripheral
devices
and
disconnect
all
power
cords
and
external
cables;
then,
remove
the
cover
(see
“Removing
the
cover”
on
page
90).
3.
Remove
the
riser-card
assembly
(see
“Removing
the
riser-card
assembly”
on
page
96).
4.
Place
your
fingers
into
the
handle
and
opening
on
the
top
of
the
air
baffle.
5.
Press
the
handle
toward
the
opening
and
lift
the
air
baffle
out
of
the
server.
Attention:
For
proper
cooling
and
airflow,
replace
the
air
baffle
before
you
turn
on
the
server.
Operating
the
server
with
an
air
baffle
removed
might
damage
server
components.
Removing
the
fan-bracket
assembly
To
replace
some
components,
such
as
the
CD-RW/DVD
drive,
you
must
remove
the
fan-bracket
assembly;
to
route
some
cables,
you
might
have
to
remove
the
fan-bracket
assembly.
Note:
To
remove
or
install
a
fan,
it
is
not
necessary
to
remove
the
fan-bracket
assembly.
