4. Replace the protective caps on the cable ends.
5. If you are leaving the SFP in place, replace the protective cap on the SFP.
Removing a wire bale type SFP: Follow the steps below to remove a wire bale
type SFP. (If the SFP is a plastic tab type, skip these instructions and go to
“Removing a plastic tab type SFP” on page 48.)
1. Unlock the bale (wire handle) by pulling it outwards 90° to release the
transceiver (see
1
in Figure 18 on page 48).
Note: If there is not enough room because of an adjacent cable and SFP, you
may need to temporarily remove the adjacent cable.
