Installing Hot-Swap Power Supplies

CAUTION:
To avoid personal injury or equipment damage when
installing or removing a hot-swap power supply, always
follow these steps in sequence.
To install a hot-swap power supply:
1.
Install the power supply in the server.
2.
Connect the power cord to the power supply.
3.
Plug the supply power cord into a properly grounded electrical outlet.
To remove a hot-swap power supply:
1.
Unplug the supply power cord from the electrical outlet.
2.
Disconnect the power cord from the power supply.
3.
Remove the power supply from the server.
Note: You can identify a hot-swap power supply by the HS on its label. Not all
PC Server 704 models have hot-swap power supplies. If you are working
with multiple models of the PC Server 704, be sure to check the power
supply label before you attempt to hot-swap a power supply
